Advocacy Alert - Net Neutrality

The public is now able to comment on the FCC’s proposal to deregulate the internet, granting commercial [internet service providers] and large content providers the freedom to maximize profits by degrading internet access and choice for consumers. The current rules passed two years ago make it illegal for internet providers to arbitrarily block or slow down traffic to websites whenever they choose and impose fees on online services in exchange for providing consumers access to their content. The commission will vote Dec. 14th on whether to adopt the plans to remove protections on how our Internet Service Providers allow us to access the Internet.

Your Senators and Congressional representatives need to know that strong, enforceable net neutrality protections are vital to free speech and entrepreneurship, and that those values take precedence over corporations boosting their already healthy profits.
