02.22.13 - Digital Library Upgrade
Wisconsin's Digital Library has been upgraded with many new features, including a "One-Step Checkout," a built-in reader, and navigational improvements:
- No downloads or installations
- Read anywhere on any device
- Easily sync reading process across devices
- Fast filtered search
To view the entire title of a book, hover your mouse over the cover image: the small popup text box will display all of the title, and the author (but not the series, unfortunately).
To check availability of a title, hover over the icon in the upper right corner of the cover image which will be dark to indicate 'available' and gray to indicates 'holds.'
10.17.12 - Sierra Training Materials
NWLS has the following Sierra training materials available - requires merlin login:

10.11.12 - Sierra live date will be October 24 for all libraries.
A Sierra practice database is available for previewing. Logging into Sierra will use a license. The following training materials from the vendor are available online (contact NWLS for the password):
09.20.12 Joomla Website Upgrade
Libraries will be upgraded individually to a new version of Joomla. Mike Sauvola will contact libraries individually to schedule a date that works best.
08.30.12 - Tribal Library Resident Patron Codes: Beginning January 2012 non-resident and resident circulation will be determined by township for all patrons. The circulation statistics generated by NWLS will be adjusted to reflect this change for the 2012 annual reports.
The Bad River Public Tribal Library is located in the community of Odanah and the town of Sanborn. Since Odanah is unincorporated, Sanborn Town will be considered a township with a library.
The Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College is located in the Bass Lake township which will now be considered a township with a library.
08.22.12 - The Millennium server will be down September 19 and October 23, preventing access to the following: Merlin Circulation, Express Lane, Cataloging, Acquisitions, notices, and the catalog • Pharos printing • WPLC Digital Downloads
Offline Circulation may be used to check out items while the Millennium server is down. As soon as the server is available again you will be notified to upload your Offline transactions. Once the transactions are uploaded, contact Marsha to process them.
Fall 2012 - Millennium Migration to Sierra Innovative Interfaces will be replacing the current Millennium modules with Sierra, a new-generation software platform with updated technology. Implementation is scheduled for fall 2012. Millennium's basic functionality will be available in the new Sierra navigation layout with access from a single login to functions in Circulation and Cataloging.
PStat Code - Select the patron status code associated with the tribal membership:

Township Code - Select the township associated with the individual’s property location
County Code: Choose the county associated with the individual’s property location
ID # - Enter tribal id number in this field.
05.18.12 Wisconsin ILL Revised Guidelines - The revised edition of the Wisconsin Interlibrary Loan Guidelines reflect the changes in information delivery and access impacted by changes in technology since 2005. The revision includes a page of links to "Where to Find More Information" from Wisconsin and nationwide resources, and recommendations regarding requests for high demand items, textbooks, and digital resources.
09.22.11 Kindle now compatible with library ebook lending Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) now has titles compatible with Kindle. For more information and support for accessing and downloading visit the Digital Media Center.
08.03.11 Mobil Merlin: The Merlin catalog has been optimized for the mobile web. Mobile Merlin recognizes mobile connections and takes advantage of the display features of the most popular devices including the iPhone and iPod Touch, Blackberry Storm and Bold, Droid and other Android devices and PalmPre. Mobile Merlin includes full keyword search capabilities, item information display (including book jackets and media icons), and patron record display (including titles checked out, held items, and money owed), renewal and request capabilities. The menu offers a link to the "Main Site" for unsupported smartphones, iPads, and for those who prefer the option to "pinch and zoom" displays from the standard catalog.
07.22.11 EBSCO eBooks: E-books formally available through NetLibrary are now accessed through BadgerLink where a rich collection of digital resources, including books, journals, and database content is provided by EBSCO. A larger selection of ebooks is available through EBSCO with easier navigation and improved functionality, including the ability to read full-text documents and to download titles to most popular portable devices. Through BadgerLink, log into your library card account and select the EBSCO Database List, then select the eBook Collection. Sign In at the top of the EBSCOhost search page to log into EBSCO.
