Part-Time Library Assistant
The Boulder Junction Public Library is hiring a part-time Library Assistant to work closely with the Library Director. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing individual with a passion for libraries and customer service, plus a strong competency in current media (technology and devices).
Essential duties will include basic circulation functions, cataloging and processing, supervising volunteers, and assisting customers in making use of the library’s resources.
Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, have proficient technology skills, be a reliable team player, enjoy working with children and adults, and strive to provide quality service while maintaining customer privacy.
Minimum Requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, computer experience, ability to lift 30 lbs, agility to reach lower library shelves, and ability to drive to library service meetings at various locations in Northern Wisconsin.
The position is 12-20 hours per week, including some evening and Saturday hours; plus, additional shifts to cover for illness or vacations as needed. A complete position description is available online at boulderjunctionlibrary.org or can be picked up at the library.

Walter E. Olson Memorial Library, Eagle River
Library Assistant I & II
The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library has 2 openings for energetic, creative, and dedicated additions to our staff. The Library Assistants report to the Library Director and work as part of the Library team – along with the Director, Youth Services Coordinator, and Technical Services Coordinator – in providing programming and services to all Library users.
The Library Assistants work to provide high quality library services, materials, and programming by being a primary provider of patron/customer service at the Library, including working the circulation desk, assisting patrons with technology, responding to all forms of patron communications, providing interlibrary loan and reference services, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Library.
Strong candidates will have strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to manage time and priorities, problem-solving skills, a demonstrated knowledge of and/or aptitude for learning technology skills, and some knowledge of library professional values. These positions are envisioned as two 24 hours/week, part time positions. Depending on the candidate pool, it may be possible to expand one position to a full time, 40 hours/week position.
The positions offer compensation at $17/hour, as well as paid vacation, sick time, and employer contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System. More information on benefits can be found in our Employee Handbook.
