Technology Support Specialist 

The Northern Waters Library Service located in Ashland, WI is seeking candidates to provide technical and network support for member libraries. Assistance will be provided via telephone, e-mail, help desk, remote access, and on-site visits.  The position will have lead responsibility in working with desktop hardware and software, peripherals, and handheld devices on an Active Directory network.  Characteristics desired: organized with attention to detail, self-motivated, creative thinker, problem-solver, ability to communicate in non-technical terms, can move between and manage multiple tasks and projects, and work well as part of a team.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related program is highly desirable.  Associate degree with two years’ experience in multiple areas is required: Microsoft Windows Professional, Mac OS, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, LAN, WAN, basic routing and switching, wireless networking, PC hardware and software installation and configuration, and help desk support.

Excellent customer service and experience in training people in computer applications is required.  Experience in library automation, high-speed telecommunications, virtual machine software, Microsoft System Center, Linux, and network security is desired as well as experience working with very small organizations.

Library Director – Shell Lake Public Library

The Shell Lake Public Library Board of Trustees is accepting applications for a Library Director. This is a Part time position (29 hours per week) with vaction and sick time included.

Minimum Qualifications: Class 3 Wisconsin Public Library certification, or 56 college credits from an accredited college or university in the liberal arts or sciences with a willingness to acquire a Wisconsin Public Library certification.  Experience in a customer service setting.  Administrative experience.  At least 1 year of supervisory experience.  Willingness to learn new software applications on a regular basis.

Library Assistants – Mercer Public Library

The Mercer Public Library in Mercer, Wisconsin, is hiring two part-time positions: a Circulation & Technical Services Library Assistant and a Circulation & Programming Library Assistant.

We are seeking candidates with great customer service skills, knowledge of basic office software, comfort with technology, and a dedication to the library principles of intellectual freedom and equitable service to all. Experience in libraries, cataloging, and youth programming are a plus.

These are part-time positions for an average of 25 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends required. Compensation begins at $17.00/hour; holidays and other PTO; and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
