Adult Services
According to the American Library Association, adult services are “materials, services, and programs designed to meet the needs of the adult users of a public library.” Adult services can include readers’ advisory for adults, computer classes, book clubs, services for job seekers, adult literacy programs, public programs for adults, and services to members of a specific group of adults such as senior citizens, immigrants, English language learners, and more. Teresa Schmidt provides adult services consulting to NWLS and its member libraries. If you have questions or suggestions about adult services, contact her at tschmidt@northernwaters.org.
